The beginnings of what is now the Archdiocese of Jos can be traced to February 12, 1907 when Rev. Fathers Oswald Waller, Joseph Mauren and Ernest Belin of the Society of African Missions (SMA) arrived Shendam, the only Catholic station north of the Rivers Niger and Benue up to the 1930s.
The curriculum at inception comprise of Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Latin, English Language, Literature, Christian Religious Knowledge, Geography and History. Presently offers a comprehensive and holistic education deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition and ethics for both junior (basic) and senior levels.
One of the major achievements of the college is the birth of young and talented individuals from the college, who are today found in all spheres of positive human endeavours, both within and outside the country.
With tender love we come to thee, Dear guide and friend, Saint Joseph; With heart and voices joyously, Our words of praise we sing, Chorus: Saint Joseph, dear, when life is dark, When waves of sin and sorrow rise, Guide thou our frail and trembling bark, Safe to the port beyond the skies.
